What is a Large Language Model (LLM)?
A model
- Is the thing that produces the answer, trained on an enormous amount of text
- Answers by predicting what plausibly comes next, rather than looking something up, unless it has been given a way to search
- Only sees what you paste or upload, and cannot reach your files or inbox unless you connect those accounts
- You will hear model, LLM, and AI used interchangeably, including by people selling AI products
